Governor Branstad Visits

Steffensmeier Welding & Manufacturing has come a long way since the company was formed in 1982.  Ben Steffensmeier, started the company in a small welding shop about a mile from its current location near Pilot Grove, IA.  Today, the company employs more than 20 people and works directly with a large array of businesses within the State of Iowa.
Steffensmeier Welding & Manufacturing Inc. is always looking for improvement and striving to make the company be the best it can be for its' customers, employees, and community.
Jenny Steffensmeier, Owner/President, has taken action in the education system by getting involved with the Lee County Economic Development group.  Right now they are working on providing high school graduates jobs, and giving them the proper preparation for the workforce.  This has been a major concern for Governor Terry Branstad who visted the company on July 9th, 2015.
Jenny has also taken it upon herself to partner up with Ideal Energy to build a new solar field behind Steffensmeier Welding & Manufacturing, Inc.  This massive project will cost nearly 1 million dollars, however it will pay for itself after about five years.  Jenny made this annoucement during Governor Brandstad's visit.  He was very pleased to see the growth in the small business.  Steffensmeier Welding & Manufacturing Inc. may be a small business, but it will soon be the largest manufacturing facility in Iowa to run 100% off of solar-power.

"This partnership is going to allow us to take care of our employees as we add more and take care of our customers. That is what we are all about!”
